Learn about cadastral mapping maintenance, correctly splitting lots, reading deeds, Survey terminology and street numbering.

Second Hour:

Presenter: Kristen Kelly, Project Manager II, GIS Services, Tighe & Bond, Inc.

Learn about MASSGIS Level III standards, updating maps from a vendor’s standpoint, establishing new GIS Coordinates to a final deliverable product.

Trusts – Who Should be Assessed?

The challenges of the Assessors to identify ownership rights as they relate to exemptions.  Common types of trusts and what documents to request with each to establish beneficial interest.   How to determine if a property in a trust meets exemption requirements.  Common problems and mistakes attorneys make when transferring property into a trust that effect exemption qualification.  Common errors Assessors make in interpreting ownership.

WCAA 2018 Annual Clerks Meeting

May 16, 2018 9:00 am to 4:00 pm to be held at the Grafton Police Station. Free to all Worcester County Assessors Association Members. $28 for non-members. This is a full day workshop with lunch. The morning session is on Exemptions and Deferrals for Real Estate and Motor Vehicle taxes, and tracking data and maintaining databases and folders.
 
The afternoon features a presentation by Auburn Town Clerk Debra Gremo on posting of notices and content requirements of minutes followed by a round-table discussion on how the Public Records Laws relates to the Assessors Office. November Workshop

Registration is now open for the WCAA November Workshop.  This workshop will be held at Wachusett County Club in West Boylston, with registration beginning at 8:30 AM and the program beginning at 9:00 AM.  This is a full day workshop offering 6 credits.

Speakers will be Neil MacGaffey from MassGIS, John Valade, Commercial Assessor for the City of Worcester, and Jon Steinberg, Chief Assessor from Westborough

WCAA Annual Meeting & Fireside Feast

Registration is now open for the WCAA Annual Meeting.  We will be having the traditional Fireside Feast, and the meeting will be held at the Salem Cross Inn in West Brookfield, MA on December 7, 2016

September Evening Workshop & Meeting

Registration is now open for the September Meeting to be held at the Grill on the Hill in Worcester.  Online registration is available through the link on the events tab and will be open until September 19th.

Lane Partridge will be giving us a quick synopsis on the Municipal Modernization bill, and then Ellen Blanchard will be doing a presentation on Chapterland.
